We have developed an analytical equilibrium model to quantify
\nthe effect of deploying demand response on social welfare and energy trade. The novelty of this research is
\nthat it demonstrates the existence of an optimal area for the price signal inwhich demand response enhances social
\nwelfare. This optimal area is negatively correlated to the degree of competitiveness of generation technologies
\nand the market size of the system. In particular, it should be noted that the value of unserved energy or
\nenergy reductionwhich the producers could lose from such a demand response schemewould limit its effectiveness.
\nThis constraint is even greater if energy trade between countries is limited. Finally, we have demonstrated
\nscope for more aggressive demand response, when only considering the impact in terms of consumer surplus<\/p>\n
Energy Economics 52 (2015)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The aim of this work is to demonstrate analytically the conditions under which activating the elasticity of […]","protected":false},"author":3,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"footnotes":""},"categories":[13,26],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-1236","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-publications-en","category-journal-articles"],"acf":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/ceem-dauphine.eu\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/1236","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/ceem-dauphine.eu\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/ceem-dauphine.eu\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/ceem-dauphine.eu\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/3"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/ceem-dauphine.eu\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=1236"}],"version-history":[{"count":2,"href":"https:\/\/ceem-dauphine.eu\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/1236\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":1240,"href":"https:\/\/ceem-dauphine.eu\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/1236\/revisions\/1240"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/ceem-dauphine.eu\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=1236"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/ceem-dauphine.eu\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=1236"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/ceem-dauphine.eu\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=1236"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
